Design for Machining
Solid models and surface models benefit from OpenGL graphic acceleration.  3D graphics options lets you view part data as a smooth shaded model or wireframe.  The stock model view shows the state of the stock at any point in the machining process. 
Cutter path animation utilizes OpenGL        Z-buffering to provide an unambiguous preview of cutter paths.  Z-buffering keeps track of which objects are closer to the viewer.  When the cutter drops into a pocket or moves behind a feature, the portion of the tool that is obscured by the part disappears from view.

  • Optimized for Multi-Core Processors - the multi-threaded architecture of Prospector lets it take full advantage of multi-core and multi-processor systems.  Compute-intensive operations such as cutter path generation are managed as separate threads so you can keep working while the operating system distributes the work-load.  Within each thread, the compute-intensive task of generating a 3D program is broken down into separate tasks that can execute independent of each other to take full advantage of the all the processing power your computer has available.  Learn more about high performance computing in Prospector.
